Place sugar cube in old-fashioned glass and saturate with bitters, add a dash of plain water.

Muddle 1 min
Muddle until dissolve.
Press gently to release oils — don't pulverize. You want flavor, not bitterness.

Fill 1 min
Fill the glass with ice cubes and add whiskey.
Fill the glass with fresh ice before adding ingredients.
